☾
We come together in honour of the longest night of year at Winter Solstice to soak up the healing balm of winter darkness and harness the rites and rituals of mid-winter, the traditions of retreating to rest, reconnecting by candlelight and bringing our darkness into the light ready to clear out and make space for new beginnings.
At mid-winter long dark shadows preside over the bare wintery lands inviting us to retreat to the warm, soft glow of fires and candlelight. The long dark nights gently drawing us inwards inviting us to tend to our inner lands and as we embark on this inward journey we may find mirrored here the long dark shadows of the outer lands.
Darkness, the essential partner to light but a force that left unseen and untended can has the capacity to grow and become overwhelming. At the low point of the year, the ebb of the seasonal cycles it is darkness that calls our attention until we listen, until we respond to the call to which all of nature must respond, the call of mid-winter, a call to rest. Trusting in the wisdom of the resting winter body like dormant bulbs resting beneath a blanket of snow.
↟
What to expect:
Yoga Nidra ~ deep rest through wakeful sleep, a practice that blends the benefits of deep sleep, deep meditation and deep relaxation into one effortless practice
Restorative Yoga ~ a practice of undoing through rest enhanced with hot water bottles, blankets and props to support the body's natural healing response at rest
Meditation & Journaling ~ self-enquiry practices to connect to intuition and insight
Wild Woman Yoga ~ A women’s yoga practice that honours the cyclical nature of our bodies and lives and as such is both nurturing and replenishing at certain times and fierce, wild and free at others. Like the lioness we have the capacity to be both gentle, caring nurturers and fierce, fiery protectors, our wildness can be expressed in both a gentle purr and a ferocious roar
Tea making ritual ~ we will be making our own winter warmer tea blends with Cherry of Rhythmic Roots and infusing them with love, sound and intent
Women's Circle ~ A women's circle is simple, it's a space where we can just be. A place to rest, breathe, feel and move. A place to be seen AND heard in a world where women have been taught to be seen and NOT heard
INCLUSIVITY
Explorations of the Feminine are inherently inclusive and as such these circles are open to all who identify as women including trans, non-binary or any other expression or identification of femininity. These circles value diversity of expression, experience and perspectives.
Open to all ages, life stages and cycle phases, including babies and young children (with adults).
Sliding scale pricing and free spaces available through my Suspended Yoga programme.
